Walangkura paints traditional designs depicting sacred women's sites, sacred women's ceremonies in the Kintore area as well as the designs that they paint on their bodies when performing ceremonies.
This painting depicts the country through which an old woman, Kutungka Napanangka, travelled during her journey from the west. She visited the rock hole and underground cave site of Mantati outstation.
In 1995 Walangkura took part in the Kintore-Haasts Bluff painting project 'Manyma Tjukurrpa' and began painting for Papunya Tula Artists in 1996. She now lives at Kiwirrkura with her husband and fellow artist Johnny Yungut Tjupurrula. Her mother Inyuwa Nampajinpa (deceased) and her sister Pirrmangka Napanangka (deceased) were also painters.
Walangkura Napanangka has become a very high profile artist who is sought after by galleries and collectors throughout Australia.
